Overview

The Champion Merchandise Operations Mgr. is responsible for buying, assisting with planning, and executing the financial strategies to meet or exceed sales, margin, and inventory plans. The incumbent will lead the team to overcome challenges, think differently and break through barriers to take the business to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute merchandise financial plans to the Brand and Category level by month in partnership with DTC Merchants & Merch Planning Mgr.
  • Responsible for in season business management, managing markdown cadence with merch planner, and updating the merchandise assortment document.
  • Manage and purchase all 3rd party merchandise for accessories, and footwear. Collaborate closely with DTC Merchants and manage assortment approval.
  • Partner with DTC Merchants and Planners to ensure OTB discipline and react timely to business needs.
  • Lead efforts on SKU Assessment deep dive to recommend go forward assortments by sku by store.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal business leads and outside vendors.
  • Work with Site Manager on key stories and identifying feature styles in collaboration with DTC Merchants.
  • Provide reports and analysis to DTC team to inform go forward strategies.
  • Create a team environment that fosters new and innovative ideas.

Qualifications

Experience/Skills/Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent years of comparable experience
  • Proficient in excel, retail math and financial data-based systems
  • 5-7 years of Omni-Channel experience in demand planning, OTB management, JDA or EP planning systems
  • Demonstrates strong solutions-based skill sets
  • Highly organized
  • Demonstrates the ability to lead positively through change
  • Takes accountability for business and actions to drive results and challenge the status quo
  • Proven experience in high sku-intensive business categories
  • Proven track record of positive results and OTB discipline
