Position Summary

MAG is seeking a Manager of Internal Communications to bring creativity, professionalism, and an intentional discipline to internal communications in support of our core values and business priorities.

The Manager of Internal Communications will be responsible for the creation and execution of the internal communications strategy, working directly with senior leaders to understand and write in their voice, craft communications designed for the audience, and drive timelines and approvals. The Manager of Internal Communications will be expected to be engrained in the business and seek out opportunities to engage, write, and publicize our employee successes, stories, and organizational wins.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and execute an internal communications strategy driving company goals
  • Lead the internal communications function across MAG, developing change management plans, and planning, writing, and editing content for a variety of internal communication mediums
  • Utilize various mediums and technology to communicate internally, thinking creatively and building employee engagement
  • Craft communications, scripts, or presentations for senior executives to present to employees in written or spoken form
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent and make sense for the audience
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages, coordinating with marketing team on external announcements
  • Translate ideas and content to marketing or creative team(s)
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required; a BA in journalism, communications, public relations, or marketing preferred
  • 4+ years of working experience in a communications role - planning, writing, editing, and proofreading; experience in an internal communications role preferred
  • 2 years working experience developing content for executive leaders, writing in their voice
  • Experience managing and advising leaders on complex communication-related projects
  • Change management experience preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft SharePoint to share content preferred
  • Experience finding and advising on technology solutions, digital, and video means of communication
Skills
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, writing, editing, and proofreading
  • Strong oral communication, professionalism, and interpersonal skills; ability to convey confidence in work
  • Ability to interact with employees at every level of the company
  • Excellent creativity and organizational skills
