All while receiving the resources and support you need to advance your career and be the force behind the cures.  Under the general supervision of the Director of Clinical Logistics, the Mgr-House Supervisor is accountable for promoting high quality patient care through efficient and effective management of a defined area.Development of staff to meet organizational and professional standards, for unit, division-wide, and institutional planning that supports the philosophy of the division of nursing, patient care services, and the mission of SJCRH. Provides oversight and assistance for team directing patient flow, capacity, and movement throughout the hospital. Serves as primary nurse leader when the managers, directors, and hospital administrators are not present. The Mgr-House Supervisor implements continual performance development by selecting and hiring qualified applicants, evaluating the performance of house supervisors and float pool staff, providing ongoing feedback, and mentoring. Coordinate and maintain the level of quality care expected by the institution, through effective management of their team. Accountable for patient care resources and comprehensive operations for promoting high quality patient care in collaboration with nursing leaders, physicians, clinical departments, and other stakeholders in the oversight of patient flow and movement throughout the hospital. Serves as a representative for the staff, acting as liaison between management and medical staff. In the absence of Hospital Administrative staff, the House Supervisor has the acting authority and responsibility to exercise command decisions in all emergency and safety-related decisions across all services. 
Minimum Education

  • Master's degree required or Bachelor's degree in Nursing and actively enrolled in Master's Degree program with completion within 3 years.
  • Completion of FEMA IS-100 and IS-200 courses within one year.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) certification from American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) or Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC) or Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC) from American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) required within 12 months of eligibility.

  • Minimum Experience

    Five (5) years of clinical experience required including three (3) years supervisory/management experience required.
    Required Credentials

  • (LC: RN-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license, if primary residence is Tennessee, or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state.
  • (LC: RN-TN, RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence, if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state
