JOB SUMMARY

Manages a team of engineers and technical professionals within a department. Oversees and executes the team's objectives in all aspects of work to ensure plants, gathering systems, pipelines and other assets operate efficiently and reliably, while maximizing earnings potential and driving process safety, environmental performance, and compliance.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Plans and designs a broad range of engineering projects in collaboration with internal and/or external stakeholders to achieve company objectives
  • Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance. Ensures that projects are on schedule/budget as needed
  • Develops process design basis for various projects and support execution personnel through project completion. Drives efforts to identify and address process safety and compliance concerns
  • Ensures asset engineering team understands company strategies & priorities and ensures engineering resources and initiatives are aligned with those strategies
  • Provides technical supervision to assure all engineering work is performed within the framework of company standards, design control procedures and engineering design guides
  • Manages, interprets, coordinates, and executes assignments aligned with business goals and company requirements
  • Provides technical support to commercial group in terms of project scope definition and cost estimation on business growth, product replacement projects, oversees compressor design, and coordinates necessary hydraulic system studies
  • Provides technical expertise on company-wide technical engineering initiatives
  • Responsible for scope, estimate accuracy and execution for all projects managed by engineering staff
  • Fulfills people leader responsibilities including hiring, staffing, and firing decisions, employee training and development, performance evaluation and issue remediation, and budget planning and control as well as creating a culture of respect where diversity and inclusiveness are valued
  • Provides support for companywide engineering training programs
  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical is required
  • A minimum of 10 years related experience is required. Oil and gas industry or construction project management experience preferred
  • Eight years Project Management experience preferred
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) license preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry standards (ASME, ANSI, API, NACE, NFPA, CFR, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of various pipeline regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA 1910.119 (PSM)
  • Experience managing contractors, schedules, change orders, etc.
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to build relationships

SPECIAL DEMANDS
  • This job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Noise level is typically low. Frequently in a stationary, sitting position for prolonged periods of time. Regularly moves about inside the office to complete tasks, attend meetings or to access the copy machine or file cabinets. Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the office. Occasionally may lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
