Position Overview

This person will be responsible for building client relationships, independently managing projects/analysis through from start to finish, attending and contributing to client meetings, contributing to revenue goals, and increasing NPD's value with clients.

This position will be based in downtown Chicago, Rosemont, IL or Columbus, OH.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Build strategic relationships with client contacts to develop business insights regarding the clients' most important issues/needs, both short and long-term
  • Become a trusted advisor with clients and an expert in client business initiatives and strategies
  • Excellent analytic skills, with the ability to transform large data sets into compelling solutions to the client's unique business issues; creative problem solving skills and creative analytics are a necessity
  • Accurately interpret data and clearly articulate findings and insights to both internal and external audiences in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to proactively identify business opportunities and be prepared to learn and work across multiple data sets and departments
  • Effectively communicate with clients and internal constituents on a regular basis, both in person and through written word
  • Navigate the NPD organization by collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to leverage their expertise while providing the customer perspective
  • Manage and develop one or more junior team members


Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in market research and/or consumer insights
  • BA/BS or equivalent. Foodservice, market research, economics, statistics, or marketing background preferred.
  • Strong analysis and writing ability - digest diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories
  • Understanding of how consumer data can be used to identify business opportunities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Highly proficient in all MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word.)
  • Up to 20% travel anticipated
