About the Role

Gap Inc's Strategic Growth Office ("SGO") is at the forefront of driving our next chapter of growth. Gap Inc. established the SGO to focus on long-term growth and new growth opportunities across its purpose-led billion-dollar brands and beyond its core businesses. Part of this growth will be fueled by GPS Platform Services, a business-to-business (B2B) offering where we commercialize Gap Inc's operational retail capabilities as a platform to enable selling, sourcing, fulfillment, and logistics as a service to retailers with a shared goal to accelerate and grow purpose led lifestyle brands through operational excellence. Our vision is to "make retail operations easy and scalable" so that retail brands can focus on their customers, products and services.

We are searching for a Manager - Business Development & Operations Strategy to lead the development and execution of our business development strategy across our suite of platform services. In this role you will partner closely with sales, marketing, customer success and product management to bring together and continuously iterate the business development strategy and execution plan to drive a rapid and efficient demand generation and customer acquisition engine to deliver the revenue plan for GPS Platform Services.

Through rigorous analyses combined with creative thinking you will conduct market research, customer engagement and problem / solution fit interviews, growth hacking tests and financial modeling to support and enable sales, marketing, customer success and product management to target and prioritize market and customer segments. You will also support the sales team in executing the end to end sales process and developing targeted sales collateral. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to help shape our service offerings to best meet and exceed customer expectations and revenue growth opportunities.

This role is located in the San Francisco office and requires you to be in the office on a regular basis. What You'll Do

  • Accelerate the Revenue Growth and Demand Generation for the GPS Platform Services offering within a dynamic, technology-driven environment
  • Create and evolve the business development strategy and execution plan with sales, marketing and product management
  • Partner with sales and marketing to develop and execute growth hacking tests and priority sales and marketing campaigns
  • Develop problem / solution fit interview approaches and surveys to engage with different market and customer segments
  • Collect market intelligence and help refine the go to market strategy and service offerings based on industry, market and customer trends
  • Support and execute steps throughout the sales cycle and refine sales collateral based on customer requirements and priorities
  • Manage the overall lead generation and sales pipeline in partnership with sales and marketing
  • Conduct financial modeling to assess revenue and margin expansion opportunities and monitoring of overall financial health of GPS Platform Services
  • Manage common backbone operational processes to support Sales and Customer Success Teams
  • Partner with our expert leaders in logistics and supply chain to continuously improve and refine our service offering and go to market approach

Who You Are

  • You are a strategist that brings strategy to life through execution with 5+ years in a strategic analyst / consulting role with experience in business development / go to market strategy and planning
  • Experience conducting market research, identifying trends and opportunities and conducting problem / solution fit interviews with customers / stakeholders to develop business development strategy and execution plans for revenue growth and sales opportunities
  • Experience with building sales proposals and collateral in partnership with sales teams
  • Experience with financial modeling and business case development
  • Experience with program management and operational process design and enablement
  • Exceptional ability in dealing with ambiguity with resourcefulness, outside in thinking and bringing together diverse quantitative and qualitative data to summary, document and present executable strategy, insights and recommendations
  • Knowledge and experience in the logistics and supply chain industry
  • Knowledge and interest in building and growing digitally native retail brands
  • Dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit that moves at speed with exceptional communication and collaboration capability to partner with cross-functional teams and different levels of the organization to bring others along to deliver results and remove roadblocks together
  • Customer obsessed with deep ownership in outcomes and results
  • Passion for the retail industry and retail operations with a focus on logistics and supply chain
