About the role

Now Offering $500 sign-on Bonus (for qualified employees, after 90 days). Full-Time, with benefits eligibility first of the month following hire date. Accrue up to 4 weeks of vacation time per year. 401k with company match.

A role of Maintenance Technician II in a Gap Inc. distribution or fulfillment center is responsible for all equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM’s) and repairs to; forklifts, conveyors, associated DC equipment, general maintenance of the DC and the ability to perform all lower level technician duties. This role is to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and technical failures. Also, this position is responsible for completing equipment moves and new equipment installations, including; electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics. You are required to safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery and have knowledge of the assigned DC technology and process flow. Provide technical training for Technicians Assistant’s and Technician I’s. Work within safety guidelines and under the guidance of the maintenance supervisor.

What you'll do

  • Perform all duties associated with lower level technician positions.

  • Conduct routine repairs/tasks with shop equipment: band saw, Arc and Mig welders, Torch, Install copper tubing, Hydraulic press; drill press; grinder.

  • Perform critical preventative/predictive maintenance, IDesearch/cross-reference parts, repaireplace system components and troubleshoot for; Conveyor Maintenance, Forklift Maintenance, and 3-phase Electrical Systems under 600 volts.

  • Perform advanced conveyor system controls maintenance by proper use of electrical PPE and tools, size and install electrical circuits, and understand ladder logic and navigation of software to troubleshoot.

  • Operate all maintenance tools to include forklifts and lift equipment.

  • Lead special projects and communicate with fellow workers on a technical level.

  • 2 – 5 years of practical experience

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to demonstrate electrical and PLC knowledge – understanding electrical prints
