SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, and overhaul work on all shop equipment. Position will read and interpret electronic schematics and identify components to manage projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must be highly mechanically inclined and have a strong ability to use basic hand tools
Perform insert changeovers for production
Perform preventive maintenance as per instruction and assigned intervals
Inspect equipment for defects and plan for solutions to prevent downtime
General housekeeping around the shop and maintain safe work environment
Maintain cleanliness, safety and functionality of components, tools and equipment
Maintain electronic/electromechanical equipment to ensure it is in optimal running condition
Work independent with strong technical knowledge leading team for proactive planning and maintenance
Effective communication skills both verbally and written
Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures
Read and understand hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics, PLC programming and draw conclusions.
Removes and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system.
Understand and support Lean tools including: 6S, 5Ys Problem Solving, Standard Work, SMED, Kanban, etc
Realigns and adjusts components on machines, robotics, etc
Other responsibilities as assigned

The work environment is usually in an indoor concrete floored precision machining shop. General noise level can fluctuate from medium to high on a constant basis.
