Oldcastle Building Envelope has an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join the team at our Midway facility. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on leader who wants the opportunity to make a positive impact on the operation and improve reliability throughout the plant.

Basic Function: The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety and predictive maintenance systems. They will support the achievement of business goals and objectives. They will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing PLCs, Drives and Machine Networks. Also, the individual will participate in general maintenance duties of the equipment and facilities as directed by their supervisor.

  • Skilled with Allen Bradley PLC and HMI troubleshooting, all platforms are a MUST. Experience with other PLC platforms, SCADA, and HMI applications, as well, is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must have experience with troubleshooting motion control systems, motion controllers, VFDs, servo drives.
  • Experience with equipment reliability / computerized maintenance management software, to drive world class up-time through preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and targeted engineering change.
  • Be an organized, self-starter with the ability to handle numerous projects, prioritize workload and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and conduct themselves professionally, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate can think outside the box - innovative in daily responsibilities as well as project work.
  • Can Safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.
  • Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Midway, TN.
  • Analyze bug reports and highlight problems to help identify fixes for them.
  • Ability to collaborate with other team members to find the best methods for solving problems.
  • Have excellent analytical skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Experience with Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Mechanical maintenance of Robotic systems, equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine Electro-Mechanical malfunctions, utilizing appropriate test equipment to analyze problems and correct deficiencies - Minimum Test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, Laptop computers.
  • Be able to work effectively with Automation and Instrumentation devices in support of engineering and engineering technicians.
  • Troubleshoot equipment Motor and Drive hardware and control Issues.
  • Follow All proactive safety measures to include but not limited to NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent safety codes. Ensure safety procedures, such as Lock-Out Tag-Out, Arc Flash are always followed
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of production systems.
  • Strong fundamental understanding of 3 phase electrical systems, machine/motion control systems, electro-mechanical systems, VFD and Servo systems
  • Support the Parts department by assisting with identifying and maintaining parts used on the equipment and inventory of repair parts and manufacturing supplies
  • Executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Repair and maintain automated production equipment.
  • Demonstrate sound troubleshooting skills.
  • Maintain PM and records for all plant equipment.
  • Must be able to read electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Start up and debug of new systems.
  • Optimization of processes.
  • Implement preventative maintenance procedures to maximize equipment operations and minimize safety risks.
  • Record when any equipment was serviced, and repairs were made.
  • The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing technical support to manufacturing through efficiently responding to and resolving maintenance requests as well as proactively performing routine maintenance to ensure customer commitments can be met by production.
  • This individual is also responsible for maintaining maintenance records in E-Maint/SAP and providing feedback and technical advice to assist Maintenance Planners in scoping, creating, and improving job plans.
  • Execute basic and regular pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical Maintenance of Robotic, Controls and Peripherals, performing independent work.
  • Ensures availability of machinery and equipment by completing reactive, preventive and proactive maintenance requirements following: Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs), One Point Lessons (OPLs), machine ledgers, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and Maintenance Engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Locates sources of problems by observing the operation; listening for problems; using measuring and testing instruments.
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, and, replace, adjust and/or repair parts, dismantling devices, using manual tools, power tools and support equipment.
  • Continuously improve technical knowledge by attending educational opportunities (workshops, training); reviewing technical publications; establishing professional network and participate on skill tests by leadership discretion.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating, actions, irregularities, and continuing needs, by escalating and requesting support.
  • Improve and maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations (lockers, tools, equipment, working environment, etc.).

Minimum Requirements:

  • Industrial Maintenance Certificate or 3 years' experience in an Industrial maintenance setting.
