Overview:
Primary responsibilities for the Inkjet DOD Operator are to set-up, test, and operate the inkjet printing lines according to job specifications and schedule. Other duties include routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting machine malfunctions. This position will clean and prepare the work area and machine for the next shift.
Responsibilities include:
  • Safely and with high quality, operate work cells/machines.
  • Prepare work area for the start of the shift, which includes necessary materials and paperwork.
  • Set-up DOD lines and operate machines to print on plastics or other material ensuring correct print registration and color.
  • Review job and print specifications before printing to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot in the event of machine malfunction and make the necessary adjustments or call maintenance technician for assistance.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork required.
  • Clean machine between jobs and at end of shift.
  • Perform any routine maintenance on the machine (i.e. check fluid levels, rollers, etc.).
  • Clean and stock work area in preparation for the next workday or shift.
  • Perform these and other duties assigned by the supervisor or other appropriate management personnel.

1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting, but may be exposed to variable temperature conditions indoor and outside (occasionally extreme heat or extreme cold). The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and dust and/or mite hazards. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
