Basic Job Functions:
The Logistics Lead is responsible but not limited to:
- Leading excellence in safety by ensuring safety is inherent and the most important thingin everything we do.
- Hiring, onboarding, training, and continued growth and development of the team.
- Educating, motivating, and empowering a strong Nucor culture made up of teamoriented, positive attitudes, with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors, contractors, and customersto identify opportunities for superior quality, improved processes, and cost savings.
- Analyzing data to find opportunities where performance and/or technical skills canimprove; removing the obstacles or obtaining the tools to help the team execute.
- Scheduling and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments, tracking demurrage,calculating freight rates and ensuring all shipping documentation is accurate.
- Setting goals to ensure expectations are clearly communicated and sustained to helpthe team be successful.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 years' experience in a leadership and/or technical role
- 1 years' experience in logistics
- 1 years' ERP system experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in all three shipping modes: rail, truck, and barge.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated continuous growth and development experience.
