Description
The Divinity School at the University of Chicago is now accepting applications for a part-time Lecturer to teach in Winter 2023 and Spring 2023, up to three courses total. This appointment will involve teaching section(s) of the undergraduate Social Science Core sequence, "Religion: Cosmos, Conscience, and Community" and perhaps one course in Islamic Studies or another topic in undergraduate studies in the Divinity School. Responsibilities include preparing and teaching seminar-style courses, holding regularly scheduled office hours, preparing and grading assignments, and attending staffing meetings.
The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the University.
Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a social sciences or humanities area relevant to the curriculum. Experience teaching at the university or four-year college level is required.
