Your Role & Responsibilities

  • SUMMARY
  • The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for the effective development, coordination, and presentation of learning programs for all employees. The position supports a variety of learning and development activities including professional curriculum development, leadership development programs, facilitations, teambuilding, vendor management, and product/technical training. This position acts as a resource to all employees on any learning and development topics.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Design and develop innovative, blended learning solutions including classroom, eLearning, and virtual classroom learning components covering professional and leadership content. 
  • Design and lead facilitations, team buildings, and coaching sessions as requested. 
  • Assess developmental needs to drive training initiatives and implement MAHLE's learning and development programs. 
  • Create, manage, or contribute to organization-wide programs such as leadership development, management development, employee engagement programs, talent and retention efforts, and performance management. 
  • Assist with the communication and implementation strategy for learning and development activities. 
  • Manage and utilize a variety of learning systems and tools including the corporate learning management system (LMS), EQi, and Predictive Index. 
  • Collaborate with external consultants as vendors as needed. Monitor and manage their work. 
  • Research best practices and serves as a resource for alternative strategies and tactics for learning and development topics. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal business and human resources managers to establish priorities, consult on initiatives, provide status reports, and drive alignment. 
  • Contribute to the development of strategic and operating plans and budgets for learning and development projects and initiatives. 
  • Participate in developing department goals, programs, and systems.
  • Liaises with MAHLE global development team to leverage global programs and resources to adapt or adopt programs, tools, metrics, and practices for local needs. 
  • Ensures compliance with all related TS-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures. 
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Under general supervision, performs work that is varied and may be somewhat difficult, but usually involves limited responsibility.
  • Exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action.


Your Skills & Strengths
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS  #Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited four year college or university preferred, or equivalent related experience  #3+ years previous or related experience  #Ability to identify and solve problems, to work within deadlines with a high attention to detail, and to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment  #Strong business acumen and the ability to influence and develop strong working relationships with all levels of employees, including human resources colleagues and senior level management and/or executives  #Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation delivery #Must have broad, basic understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws  #Advanced computer skills, especially in MS Office  #Must have a broad, basic understanding of learning and development.  #Experience with the automotive industry preferred  #Learning Management System (LMS) experience preferred #WORK HOURS #Employees must be able to work additional hours and/or additional days during the payroll week which can be in excess of forty (40) hours per payroll week. #TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS #Domestic/international travel with/without overnight stay may be required.
