Job Title: Lead HVAC Technician

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Lead HVAC Technician at Hill AFB, Utah.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Manager daily regarding the Mechanical HVAC functionality of the Mission Critical Systems: Chiller Plant, Data Room Equipment, and all HVAC Systems.
  • Assign CMMS generated work orders to HVAC Technicians for PM & PdM of all Mechanical Systems / Equipment.
  • Schedule PM & PdM for Mechanical Systems with Subcontractors as needed.
  • Work with QA / Safety Manager to ensure that work being performed meets high quality standards and that all HVAC Technicians understand and follow OSHA / DISA Safety Regulations and LOTO procedures.
  • Work with Lead Electrician to support the Mission Critical Electrical Systems as needed.
  • Read and understand the Government Contract to ensure compliance of Mechanical System Operation and Maintenance.
  • Responsible for the operations, repairs, replacement and preventative maintenance of commercial and industrial air conditioning and heating systems, chillers and boilers, air handlers, fan coil units, humidifiers, water treatment equipment, controls and other building mechanical equipment.
  • The preferred candidate must be familiar with Chillers and chilled water systems, Hydronic Boilers and hot water systems as well as DX units.
  • Must maintain safe work practices in support of the OSHA Health and Safety, NFPA 70e and ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Compliance standards as it applies when performing the assigned duties.
  • Responsible to complete the refrigerant usage log as required.
  • Performs other tasks as needed including snow removal and grounds maintenance.
  • Performs plumbing tasks as needed. Clean and unclogs sinks, toilets, and floor drains. Repairs sink faucets and toilet flushometers.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience operating, maintaining and repairing commercial / industrial HVAC. Data Room experience a plus.
  • Must have a Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Journeyman HVAC card a plus.
  • Must have experience with 300 ton plus Centrifugal Chillers and the respective Chilled Water Systems, Trane Air Cooled Chillers.
  • Certified Factory training of Trane Chillers is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge of Cooling Tower systems and components.
  • Liebert and Data Aire CRAH experience / certification preferred.
  • Experience operating Hydronic Boiler and the respective Hot Water systems is preferred.
  • Must have experience working on HVAC VAV systems.
  • Building Automated Control System experience preferred.
  • Delta & Iconics Control experience / certification a plus.
  • VFD / ASD operation, programming and repair preferred. Toshiba ASD & Bell & Gossett VFD experience a plus.
  • Must have a Current EPA Universal license.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
  • The individual must be self-motivated and work with little supervision.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written are imperative.
  • Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
  • Ability to be cross trained in the basic skills of other disciplines/trades.
  • Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). ie; but not limited to, Arc Flash, Dust mask, gloves, safety toe boots, eye protection and hearing protection. NFPA 70E training is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet based programs to perform required annual training.
  • Ability to effectively manage and respond to emergency situations.
  • Ability to work on-call for emergencies as needed.
