Position Summary

Excellent opportunity for a Lead Engineer - Infrastructure in Hanover, MD! As the Lead Engineer - Infrastructure subject matter expert, you will collaborate with system users, requirements owners, and developmental contractors to translate operational requirements into software requirements, designs, and implementations. Responsible for oversight and Quality Assurance for the entire life-cycle of supported product system data-centers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Communicate with engineering teams to assess, support and extend vendor developed Application Programming Interfaces needs and feature prioritization
  • Participate in performance profiling to firmware deployment, working closely with vendor deployment automation and data platform teams to ensure computational resources can be managed efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee developed or purchase software solutions that manage the delivery of compute resources to fielded and database systems
  • Participates in planning, coordinating, scheduling, directing, and controlling engineering and technical support activities applicable to software development and integration of software tools/capabilities onto a variety of execution platforms
  • Participates in the development and execution of software and system test strategies
  • Reviews and assesses developmental contractor software code to ensure compliance with government-provided coding and cybersecurity standards
  • Participates in government oversight of contractor software development activities, to include as a supporting team member in agile development paradigm activities (e.g., scrums, sprint retrospectives), developing software acceptance criteria, and generating recommendations to the government Assistant Product Manager regarding development, development planning, development/test automation tools, prioritizing requirements, test, evaluation, cross-system integration, and fielding/delivery, and post-delivery support of software-based systems
  • Provides integrated, multi-disciplinary solution recommendations for resolution of technical problems.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

The required skills and knowledge include:
  • US Citizenship, must currently possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
  • 5 years of direct experience with software development
  • 2 years of experience managing software development teams
  • 2 years in cyber or C4ISR systems
  • Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming, Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, BitBucket, Git, Nexus)
  • Experience with continuous integration and continous delivery
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Mercurial, Git)
  • Experience with Unix-based (to include Linux and Android) and Windows operating systems
  • Experience with Powershell Installation scripting
  • Experience with HTML, Java, JavaScript development
  • Experience working with web services

The minimum years of related experience required: 6 - can be an equivalent combination of training, work experience and, preferably, applicable military experience

Education

The minimum level of education required is: BS and/or graduate degree(s) in Engineering or Information Technology

Desired Requirements

The desired skills, knowledge, and education include:
  • Familiarity with Application Programming Interfaces and with Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Excellent communications skills including the ability to work on multi-functional teams

Physical requirements for the job include the ability to work in an office and lab environment.
