VCA Bering Sea is looking for a full-time Kennel Assistant for our boarding facilities. VCA Bering Sea is a four-doctor general practice hospital that provides boarding services for cats, dogs, and some pocket pets. This position would be required to work weekends and holidays.

We strive to deliver a positive experience for all of our boarding pets and any candidate must enjoy working with animals. While animals are part of the position, it is also crucial that you be self-motivated and attentive to detail. All candidates must be willing to become Fear Free Certified, which is an approach to veterinary care that aims to decrease anxiety, fear, and stress in all of our pets. This certification is covered by VCA.

Some duties included in this job are:

- Administering medications

- Handling cats, dogs, and pocket pets

- Cleaning using power washers, etc.

- Lifting up to 40lbs.

- Attention to detail and accurately documenting patient care

- Scheduling

- Speaking on the phone with clients

- Ability to work on one's own
