Kayak/SUP Tour Guide - $13.00+/hour

Wekiwa Springs State Park, managed by Guest Services, Inc., is now hiring for a Kayak/SUP Tour Guide. This location is open 7 days a week and weekend availability is expected for all staff. If you love working outdoors and helping guests, this is a great opportunity for you!

This pay for the Kayak/Tour Guide position ranges from $13.00-$15.00/hour.

JOB SUMMARY

Leading recreational groups on informative tours launched from Wekiwa Springs State Park. Trips will include the use of kayaks, canoes, and SUPs.Candidate should have knowledge of local surroundings, wildlife, some history,and boating regulations. Candidate should be able to lead at least 2- 1.5 hourtrips per day. There are additional opportunities to assist with watercraft rentalsduring slower times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Lead and guide clients on an informative tour
• Assisting customers in all aspects of the tour
• Ensuring safety and supervision of on the water activities
• Manage the registrations and paperwork of designated programming
• Other duties as required
• Working weekend and holiday hours required

SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Customer Service skills
• Intermediate knowledge of boating, kayaking, SUP, etc.
• At least one year teaching experience with at least one type of boating discipline such as SUP, kayaking, canoeing, etc.
• Segway experience a +
• REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
• One of the following will be required depending on the discipline you are teaching:
  American Canoe Association Level 1 (minimum) Certifications Kayak or SUP (can be trained by company upon hire)
• American Canoe Association Tour Guide Kayak or Stand-Up Paddle
• Driver's License
• Red Cross CPR, First Aid (training available)

PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
The work required is moderately physically demanding and requiresa medium level of physical fitness. You will be required to do the following:
