Job Description:

  • I'm responsible for the Software Engineering and support for one the ServiceNow Product engineering teams in People Technologies.  
  • We have 2 ServiceNow Platform Product teams with multiple squads within them.  
  • This position will support all Product Engineering teams on the ServiceNow platform.
Project Description:
  • Client has invested in several new technical capabilities within the ServiceNow platform.  
  • We need to provide a more focused QA approach supporting the new Employee portal, ITSM processes, and HR processes currently leveraging the platform. 
Position Summary/Job Description:
  • Review current testing plans and capabilities
  • Learn the functional solutions that are available - e.g. ServiceNow's native Automated Test Framework
  • Contribute to assessment of and define QA /Testing plan(s) for the entire ServiceNow platform and product teams
  • Create and execute functional test plans related to delivery of new features or platform upgrades.
  • Create and execute/coordinate performance testing related to delivery of new features or platform upgrades.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities for managing overall testing - e.g. UAT process, etc.
  • Take guidance from QA lead and collaborate with other QA Analyst(s).
  • Maintain existing automation test framework (ServiceNow's native Automated Test Framework)
  • Work with developers, BA or SME to design specific testing strategies for features being developed and automate them where applicable
  • Manage the defect lifecycle and ensure issues are reported and resolved, including validation of the fix
How much time will the resource spend pair programming? 
  • 50% Test Script creation, 30% execution of automated and manual test scripts.

Qualifications (must have skills)
  • Ability to create and execute complex tests without guidance; has a solid grasp of advanced test design best practices
  • Understanding of testing techniques (e.g. performance, unit, integration, automated), their strengths and weakness, and ability to use them to best effect
  • Strong communication skills; effectively communicate test results and issues to technical and non-technical team members
  • Strong Collaboration skills: work effectively with business analysts, business SMEs and developers to build detailed and effective test cases
  • Previous experience with automated test scripting and execution (Any toolset)
What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?
  • Experience with load/performance testing
  • Experience with testing on the ServiceNow platform, ServiceNow ATF
  • Experience in Java programming with Selenium, JUnit and TestNG, JavaScript.
