YOUR TEAM.

This position will support our Business Solutions team. The IT Senior Software DevOps Engineer is responsible for the overall creation and deployment of applications, web development and mobile application solutions based on a demand pipeline centered around innovation. The IT Senior Software DevOps Engineer will work with members of the Enterprise Development team, IT Ops, and other IT peers and reports into the Senior Manager of Development.

Your goal will be to create new solutions using cutting edge tools so that the client service staff can add more business value to our clients and back office/administrative staff can work more efficiently.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Design thinking driven approach to digital solutions with a combined/balanced use of out-of-box solution features and custom development
  • Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure, including experience in Azure DevOps, Pipelines, CI/CD tools and other similar platforms and tools
  • Designing solutions for intelligence automation and integration to improve development and release processes
  • Understanding of the DevOps structure and Agile frameworks and being a key stakeholder in supporting leadership to implement this framework
  • Collaboration with IT Infrastructure and Ops to ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Facilitate success of the SDLC with Scrum and Agile methodologies
  • Visualize and document infrastructure and system design specifications using architecture diagrams.
  • Understand how to collaborate within a DevOps structure and own/develop the CI/CD pipeline to standardize and optimize the solution delivery model
  • Deep understanding of systems integration, APIs and ability to develop custom integration solutions
  • Clearly articulate the vision for solution and solve problems related to system and environmental limitations.
  • Communicate effectively with developers, consultants, and business users.
  • Communicate and translate complex technical information into easy to understand terms and examples.
  • Clearly and effectively document code/solutions and provide effective/concise input for business/user documentation.
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
  • Perform QA on your developed solutions and solutions created by other developers as part of cross-functional code design/review and cross training.
  • Proactively work to decrease technical debt by balancing the "quick easy solution" and "the better, but longer, approach" during project discussions and development.
  • Stay abreast of new technologies and participate in training to develop new skillsets.
  • Work independently as a remote employee and effectively manage time to meet team and project deadlines.
YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • 3 - 5 years software development experience within a DevOps team structure
  • Associate's, Bachelor's (or higher) degree in a computer or business-related field (Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, etc.) or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience designing, creating, customizing, and configuring innovative solutions to solve complex business requirements and streamline/automate business processes. Candidate should be able to speak to examples in detail during an interview.
  • Strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • 3-5 years experience developing a digital product from requirements to deployment
  • Strong experience in strategic and functional areas of development operations, Scrum, DevOps, and Agile project management
  • Working knowledge and experience with the Microsoft O365 platform, apps and services (such as Dynamics CRM, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote, Office, etc.)
  • Experience working with Relational Data Modeling solutions and related industry best practices.
  • Strong Excel skills (Formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power View, Data Model).
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently and communicate effectively.
  • Experience developing within Microsoft Visual Studio and utilizing Git for source control.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Test Plans, CI/CD Automation) or other similar DevOps solutions.
  • Experience keeping a security-first mindset throughout the entire application/project design and development process.
  • Ability to understand/develop low-end to high-end websites.
  • Experience working with MS Internet Information Service (IIS) and/or other web server platforms.

  • MS SQL Server (specifically database design and development)

Additional Skills
  • Help with Code merge conflicts between branches.
  • Have strong skills to set up 'Build' and 'Release' pipelines for code related to any technology (CRM, Power Apps, Dot Net, Azure, Tera forms, SSIS, SQL)
  • Code check-in process and set up a new pipeline (for new projects) and able to manage the existing pipelines.
