Key ResponsibilitiesThe Role:

The IT Project & Business Relationship Manager is responsible for both the project delivery & wider relationship between Immunocore's business areas and the Information Technology (IT) Department. Accountable to the business areas for the quality of the overall services they receive, they identify business needs, agree the business case for action and lead the process to define requirements, identify solutions in line with the IT Strategy and deliver working, sustainable IT services. The IT Project & Business Relationship Manager has a key role in ensuring that the processes and systems operating for the business areas they cover are deployed and managed effectively, ensuring agreed IT projects deliver value & their potential is realised.

Working with a wider team, this role is responsible for multiple business areas including Commercial, Business Functions (Finance, IT, Legal, HR, etc), R&D, Clinical, Scientific functions, supply chain and more. The ability to concurrently manage multiple business functions & projects to scope, quality, time and cost constraints (that may be clearly defined or may require dynamic change management) is key, so the ideal candidate will have a broad spread and depth of skills and experience covering many of these areas. Work delivering for additional functions and the assignment of other duties may also be required from time to time.

This role works across all IT and Business functions based on the topics to be managed.

Responsibilities:

Serve as liaison with the Information Technology (IT) department and all other departments in Immunocore as agreed, to identify, forecast and address IT needs.
Understand the Business Strategy, IT Strategy, and business process area strategy and ensure that these are best aligned.
Communicate the activities and project details within the business area into the IT team so that they can be best supported, and vice versa.
Proactively and reactively identify business opportunities through the application of technology and process, agreeing the business case with the relevant business area manager.
Lead the solicitation of requirements following Immunocore policies and processes.
Identify appropriate technical solutions for business needs in partnership with the process owners and agreed suppliers, aligned to the IT architecture and business strategy.
Consult with business areas to review IT usage, services, technology, and department-specific projects in order to identify, forecast and develop IT needs.
Create, analyse & deliver project proposals to ensure appropriate resources, time, funding and other requirements are understood for successful delivery, utilising internal and third-party resources as most appropriate.
Actively participate in project execution (execution of UATs, qualification documentation, etc.) where the business area does not have sufficient resources.
Identify, schedule, communicate & pro-actively manage project scope, deliverables, milestones, risks & mitigations, required activities & tasks as well as regular project reporting.
Ensure that projects are implemented following any applicable data governance or regulatory body requirements.
Provide leadership and motivation to project team members throughout the project lifecycle and confer with project staff to outline & approve changes to work plans.
Ensure that project goals are accomplished and are in line with business objectives.
Assign duties, responsibilities and scope of authority to project personnel.
Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure that the project progresses on schedule and within budget.
Create and/or review status reports prepared by project personnel, and work with stakeholders to agree the modification of schedules or plans as required.
Follow the project methodology standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
Continuously benchmark project management performance to identify improvements and achieve higher capabilities and maturity in project and portfolio management.
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Project Methodology. Act as a coach to developing project managers, executives and others who need assistance and advice regarding project management practices.
Capture business process flowcharts in line with Immunocore standards and the QMS SOPs.
Lead the transformation of IT from a series of IT tools and projects, to business services with clearly mapped value-adding outcomes and functionality with a focus on their supported areas.
Prepare, submit and monitor operational budget and cost estimates against actuals for projects to senior management.
The role is required to ensure the delivery of projects & systems necessary to commercialise our first drug product - this includes implementing various systems within a SaaS, regulated environment.
Ensure that Immunocore IT Policies and Processes are understood and in place within the business unit for a frictionless relationship.
Ensure business information in the CMDB is fully populated such as Application Owner, RTO/RPO requirements, process coverage, and product ROI; and that these are linked to the prioritisation of the IT backlog.
Agreeing the relationship owners with IT leadership & team members for various business areas, to ensure clear ownership of different business areas & projects.
Work with the wider team to ensure adherence to the appropriate Immunocore policies and SOPs.
Support Immunocore departments in the application of technology to implement a control environment, standard processes and efficiencies, ensuring alignment to global IT/data legislation and Immunocore IT policies.
Partner with the wider Immunocore team to ensure that efficiencies between departments and geographical locations are realised.
Support the wider Immunocore team in the review of contracts, ensuring alignment to global IT/data legislation, industry best practice and Immunocore IT policies.
At critical project times the role holder may be required to work irregular hours or out of hours depending on the agreed project schedule and deliverables.
As a small team, the role holder will need to be able to flex across IT functions & support UK & US geographies, and may be asked to help with other duties from time to time.

Qualifications:

Essential

Minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles within a Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology company.
Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering projects within one of the following business areas:
Commercial (regulatory-approved product / medicine),
Clinical Trial Management,
Data Management / Governance,
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Experience delivering projects in Quality (specifically GxP, CSV and/or 21 CFR part 11/GAMP) environments.
Experience in an SME environment and the balance of cost pressures vs process adherence.
Experience of project & portfolio management and performance monitoring practices and methodologies.
Extensive, demonstrable experience in forming solid business cases of projects of varying sizes/functions.
Experience of building, maintaining and extending relationships across the organization.
Good business acumen and an interest in building up business understanding to help connect business needs and challenges to the right technical solutions.
Experience of performing business and process analysis.
Experience of eliciting and capturing business requirements across a wide function & user base.
Experience with utilising project planning/scheduling tools (for example, Microsoft Project), with a solid track record of practical application.
Experience managing a project methodology and portfolio, prioritising the same, and reporting portfolio health and progress.
Experience with managing the direct activities of others in a multi-project, multi-location environment.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure including virtualization, configuration, cyber-security & compliance requirements for SaaS.
Effective influencing and negotiating skills in an environment where this role may not directly control resources.
Ability to spot the business implications of data system designs and the data requirements of user needs.
Ability to work independently and as a team member, in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines whilst successfully communicating with both internal and external customers.
Strong, demonstrable communication skills (written & verbal) across a senior stakeholder base.

Desirable

Experience in a role with international scope, ideally with exposure to the regulatory environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of applications, IT infrastructure, telecommunications and other general areas of IT operations.
Participated in EFQM or other Business Process improvement projects.
Knowledge of valuation and metrics development.
Statistical and information analysis skills.
Experience & knowledge of adhering to, and ideally embedding, SOX controls & compliance.
Exposure to or awareness of quality management process such as ISO9001 and ISO27001.
Understanding of both waterfall and agile techniques and how to project manage in these capacities.

Education:

Essential

MBA / MSC and/or Degree qualification in Business, Computer Science, Operations Management or related discipline, or significant previous employment-based experience covering these areas.

Highly Desirable

PRINCE II Project Management training, Project Management Professional (PMP) or comparable.
ABPMP Process Architect, BCS ISEB Business Analysis certifications or comparable.

Desirable

Education or training in regular corporate functions such as Finance and HR, in particular the IT /data requirements for those.
Education or training in Manufacturing or Supply Chain.
ITIL certification.
Education or training in Quality Assurance or Audit.
EFQM process improvement techniques qualification, or comparable.
