  • Provides thought leadership on issues management and validation through appropriate risk mitigation techniques.
  • Assist in the development of issues management strategic oversight throughout the Bank.
  • Successfully executes on issues management processes to fulfill department responsibilities and objectives.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with process stakeholders regarding department processes.
  • Apprises Bank executive, senior and front-line management of current issues and trends.
  • Assists with responses to issues raised by regulators and internal auditors to ensure milestones are appropriately considered, control additions/adjustments are commensurate with the risk, and timelines are appropriate to achieve desired sustainable results.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of the Bank's Issues Management Communication Protocol.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate regular meetings with issue sources to ensure open communication and transparency on issue status.
  • Ensure Archer fields are appropriate and adequate to address reporting in accordance with risk taxonomy and root cause analysis.
  • Provide reporting to all relevant Senior and Executive level risk committees of all emerging issue trends identified by regulators and internal audit.
  • Ensure appropriate Board level reporting of all Bank issues trends and status.
  • Maintains the Bank's Issues Management Policy and department procedures.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business-related field required; relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of financial services industry experience with a minimum of 2 years in a role directly interacting with senior executives and/or business line leaders.
  • 5 or more years of demonstrated team leadership ability with experience accomplishing positive outcomes while instructing a team of high performers.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with management to influence decisions and promote successful issue resolutions.
  • Experience with the most complex issues experienced by mid-sized banking institutions.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong dedication to ethics and integrity and demonstrated ability to produce high quality results and meet deadlines despite competing priorities.
  • Specific knowledge of risk management frameworks, audit risk assessments, corporate governance, process improvement, project management, bank operations, products and services, and/or regulatory environment and expectations preferred.
  • Preferred prior experience in Centralized Issues Tracking and RSA Archer.
  • Preferred prior experience in auditing or other risk-focused discipline.
