Overview:

The programmer will provide statistical programming support to the division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Working independently with guidance from the Faculty the programmer maintains project and analysis related documentation, conducts statistical analysis in SAS, produces tables and graphs, and summarizes methodology used to produce results for publication.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the division faculty participate in the design of analysis plans
  • Performs statistical programming and analysis for multiple research studies
  • Prepare data output formats as requested
  • Prepare data for presentations and articles for publication
  • Identify and perform sensitivity analyses to address potential biases
  • Link/aggregate data from multiple sources and experience working with administrative health datasets
  • Make decisions about appropriate statistical tests as required and perform statistical analyses
  • Resolve data discrepancies
  • Perform dataset edits
  • Ensure accurate and detailed documentation concerning how and why analysis decisions are made throughout the course of a research project
  • Assist in manuscript preparation (methods section)
  • The candidate will be expected to meet specified deadlines or communicate valid reasons why such may not be possible
  • All other duties as assigned


Qualifications
Qualifications:

  • MSc in epidemiology or statistics or equivalent
  • Proficient with SAS (Essential)
  • Experience with relational databases (Essential)
  • Experience working in an analysis position
  • Experience with calculation of basic epidemiologic measures (i.e., rates, risks, rate/risk ratios, 95% confidence intervals) (Essential)
  • Clinical health research experience (OBGYN preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail (Essential)
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking
  • Must possess the ability to work independently
  • Must have sound interpersonal skills and experience working as part of a team
