Position Summary:

Ownership of inventory accuracy throughout the facility in process monitoring, measuring, and statistical data analysis. Working cross departmentally in establishing documented process changes, monitoring, measurement and adherence in material accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and perform activities to reconcile and maintain inventory records (systematically and in documentation)
  • Cycle count of plant materials to verify physical count vs. system count
  • Perform audits and set in place additional checks and balances
  • Review material flow transactions in the inventory and production control systems for correctness
  • Investigate inventory variances, determine root cause
  • Recommend and implement methods to prevent future reoccurrences
  • Make recommendation and obtain approval for adjustments with follow up changes in system transactions
  • Support physical inventory
  • Support any or all projects associated with inventory movement and storage
  • Work closely with department and interdepartmental leadership in process continuity and improvements
  • Monitor and enforce material accuracy adherence for the Chattanooga site in both physical and systematic moves
  • Expectation is to be Subject Matter Expert within a calendar year
  • Perform any other duties as directed by manager


Required Experience:
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office, JD Edwards E1, XALT.
  • Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must, as well as a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma tools preferred.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working cross departmentally and with a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • 2 years' experience in Inventory Control.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team contributor.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm is length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision
  • Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods
  • Ability to work in and around foundry environment
  • Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (hot/cold)
  • Ability to work outside in seasonal weather


Desired Education:
  • High School Diploma required
  • Inventory Control experience in cycle count with root cause analysis required
  • Advanced education or certification in Materials Management preferred
