The Internal Audit Manager will help lead daily positive impacts and value to the Company and its internal control environment. You will collaboratively work on the development of risk responses/audit plans to address risks identified as part of the global risk assessment that you will help lead, and lead the execution of those plans. This position reports to the VP of Corporate Planning and Audit Finance.

You will have an opportunity to:

  • Assist the VP of Corporate Planning and Audit Finance in the continued development and leadership of a top down, risk focused function identifying the most prevalent current risks to the Company via a global enterprise risk assessment process.
  • Plan, supervise, and perform financial, risk-based, and operational audits including risk management and control management over financial reliability and compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and accounting principles and standards as well as the effectiveness of operations.
  • Analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, flowcharts, etc. to assess the effectiveness of controls.
  • Prepare and present reports for management that document the results of audits and reviews, offering recommended solutions relevant to business and risk to ensure any potential concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Regularly interact with Company management and executives across all areas of the Company by collaboratively working together to drive an environment of improved internal controls.
  • Lead the development of the internal audit team to take on increasing levels of responsibility and to help prepare team members for future roles within Materion through the communication of assigned tasks to engagement team members in a manner that is clear and concise and ensures high quality, accurate, and efficient results.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25% - 35%, to gain experiences relevant to your growth and the execution of assignments.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance .
  • CPA and/or MBA would be a plus.
  • Minimum of 8 years of audit experience (manufacturing environment strongly preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP guidelines, Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations, and the COSO framework.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication ability.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills on MS Office.
