POSITION PURPOSE:

This position helps lead and develop a team of individuals (internal/external) that provides audit review and assessment, as well as guidance to our financial teams and our executive leadership. The Internal Audit team works cohesively with all departments to promote teamwork and to ensure strong financial controls and information security compliance are met through the delivery of concise feedback on financial and IT audit activity.



IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

This position is reserved for a highly motivated and experienced individual demonstrating an exceptional aptitude for leadership and managerial responsibilities as well as outstanding technical and financial competence. This individual must be politically astute to internal and external business situations as they relate to the industry. In order to be effective, the Internal Audit Manager must possess strong technical, leadership, and organizational abilities.

Experience


* A minimum of 10 years work experience in Accounting, Audit, Security, or Information Technology. Alternatively, demonstrate a high degree of professional presence and business knowledge to interact effectively with upper-level management.
* General knowledge of IT, Finance, and Operations audit requirements and the regulatory requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley.
* Demonstrated leadership qualities (ability to delegate to others) coupled with proactively administering the needs of a project with minimal supervision by upper-level management.
* Experience preparing the scope of an audit (i.e., Strategy Memo), assessing an entity/process to make a preliminary determination of risk estimating the resources and time needed to complete the review.
* Ability to recognize and communicate control weaknesses. Demonstrate strong report-writing sills and have a history of making tangible contribution to the report as a finished product.

* Lead development of IT work programs, reports, audit methodologies, and evaluation/selection of third-party tools.
* Strong communication and organization skills.
* Strong technical proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Education


* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, General Business, Computer Science, or related discipline.
* Advance degree related to business and management such as MBA is desirable.
* Professional certifications CPA, CIA, CISA preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


* Assist the management team in developing the enterprise-wide risk planning ensuring the delivery of the risk-based plan.
* Manage a variety of projects, executing project planning activities, including gathering, reviewing, and interpreting data, interviewing key stakeholders to determine scope of audit procedures.
* Ensure IIA standards are met by the department in audit testing procedures, including attribute-based controls, and financial substantive testing, through various means -inspection, observation, and re-performance.
* Validate quantitative and qualitative documentation of testing results.
* Ensure all reports are managed to a final issuance stage. Ensure reports are balanced and drive the right management actions.
* Assist in preparing Audit Committee reports and presentations; attend Audit Committee meetings as needed.
* This position typically supervises a team of up to 2 employees.

SCOPE & EXPECATIONS:


* As a key member of management, the Internal Audit Manager has responsibility for planning, conducting, and reporting financial and operational audits for the company. The Audit Manager operates in a team environment by developing and implementing efficient and comprehensive auditing programs covering all IT, financial, and operational activities while developing audit staff to fulfill the department audit mission.
* This position report to the Senior Director -- Internal Audit


* This position is remote but periodic trips to Corporate (Winchester, VA) are expected.
* Travel 20-30% as the business requires.
