Our client, a healthcare company that inspires hope and empowers people, is seeking an Insurance Billing Manager for an interim indefinite project.

Summary: Under the direction of the Revenue & Budget Director, the Insurance Billing Manager oversees the third party billing and collections process, by functioning as a liaison between the outsourced billing service, the third party billable programs and Finance Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and oversight in consumer registration, insurance verification and activity entry to administrative support staff in third party billable programs.
  • Monitor the ongoing maintenance of client records including demographics, insurance information, diagnosis, and payer authorization.
  • Manage the consumer eligibility and clinical credentialing for third party billing.
  • Secure and maintain payer contracts and notify and update billing company of payer contracts and contract/rate amendments and regulatory changes.
  • Assure timely and complete data feed between Medical Record system and billing company including record updates and service delivery data. Resolution of any problems
  • Provide daily submission of Deposit data, EOB, and denial data to billing company.
  • Work with billing company and programs to resolve rejected claims.
  • Generate AR Plus reports to monitor and identify client and claim issues.
  • Generates AR Plus reports for Month-end closing.
  • Reconcile AR Plus reports to GL and resolve discrepancies, monthly.
  • Develop and run ad hoc reports to monitor collection rates of each program.
  • Work with supervisor, programs and billing company on ways to improve collection rates.
  • Report to supervisor any problems or concerns with programs and/or billing company impeding billing and collection performance.
  • Remain up to date with all payer regulations to ensure billing accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist supervisor in preparing of annual Audit, UFR and other reports as requested.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required trainings and participate in additional trainings, as needed for professional growth.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field plus three years' experience in third party billing.
  • An additional 4 years' experience in third party billing or a related field may be substituted for the academic requirements.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be well organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and handle a wide array of tasks.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
