The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of Colorado Boulder (http://www.colorado.edu/psych-neuro/) invites applications for two full-time Psychology instructors to begin Fall 2023. These are non-tenure track positions. The College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder is the intellectual core of the university, conducting research, scholarship, creative work and education in more than 60 fields. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience has approximately 42 tenure track faculty and 14 instructors. It offers separate bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Neuroscience to 3,200+ majors. The department also offers doctoral graduate programs in 5 specialty areas (Behavioral Neuroscience; Behavioral, Psychiatric, and Statistical Genetics; Clinical Psychology; Cognitive Psychology; and Social Psychology). What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Teach four courses (or their equivalent) each semester, departmental service, and active engagement in pedagogical initiatives within the department and across campus (e.g., https://www.colorado.edu/program/learningassistant/).
  • The successful candidates will be prepared to teach a variety of psychology courses. Department priorities include the teaching of General Psychology and several advanced psychology courses, such as Women’s Mental Health, Psychological Treatment, and Field Placement Internship.
    • We also encourage applications from candidates, including those with a multidisciplinary background, who have an interest in developing and teaching a lab and methods course, preferably in Clinical Psychology.

The salary for this position is $58,000-62,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Applicants should have a PhD in Psychology or a related-discipline.


What You Will Need

  • We seek instructors who have proven records of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, who will also serve as leaders in helping the department achieve its educational mission more broadly. Successful candidates will be prepared to teach General Psychology and several advanced psychology courses, such as Women’s Mental Health, Psychological Treatment, and Field Placement Internship.
  • We also encourage applications from candidates, including those with a multidisciplinary background, who have an interest in developing and teaching a lab and methods course, preferably in Clinical Psychology.
  • There may be a possibility to supervise therapy practicum for graduate students in our APA-approved Clinical Psychology program as part of the teaching load, so being licensed or license-eligible in Colorado is preferred but not required.
