Job Title: Installer

Department: Controls

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports to: Director of Controls

JOB SUMMARY: MSI-CSSI seeks an Installer to install and execute start up for direct expansion, chilled water, hot water and variable air volume systems in a commercial/industrial environment.


  • Read, review and follow project related documents such as blueprints, drawings, project scope, budgets, deadlines, and sequence of operation for proper execution requirements
  • Install RTU's, split systems, chillers, cooling towers and minor duct systems.
  • Install and troubleshoot HVAC thermostats, controls, etc. as needed.
  • Install and braze refrigerant pipe, fittings, TXV's, etc.
  • Charge and recover refrigeration systems. (R22, 410A, 407C, etc.)
  • Assist with ductwork, water, and gas piping, and rigging as required.
  • Perform electrical, temperature, humidity, and pressure readings as part of the start-up procedure and fill out reports.
  • Label any and all installed wiring
  • Troubleshoot and repair circuits, wiring, devices, and networks (know how to use a multimeter)
  • Installation of conduit and cabling management & support infrastructure systems
  • Provide trust & leadership to your whole team as well as customers
  • Attend job site meetings to represent & discuss workflow, scheduling and progress

Education and Experience:
  • 1 year of experience in a construction or other physically demanding job
