The Inspector, Quality Assurance ensures Brother products sold in the US meet required standards for function, safety, and appearance. The job is dynamic, with day-to-day tasks changing to meet the needs of our sales, distribution, and production facilities in Bartlett, TN.

Description

Quality Inspections

  • Inspect and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting materials and working with management to determine the next steps in the material rejection process.
  • Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests and communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work occurs with the line supervisor.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarize rework and waste and then input the data into the quality database.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safety standards standards and procedures.


Special Projects

  • Participate in special projects as needed to meet Technical Solutions departmental strategic objectives.
  • Provide feedback and input as possible to improve special project quality, processes and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) General Education
  • Associate's Degree Electronics Technology Preferred
  • Minimum 3 years Working in a production or manufacturing facility, assembling new or refurbished products
  • Minimum 1 year Inspecting materials, parts, or finished products in a production or manufacturing facility
  • Active ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification is preferred but not required.
  • Word, Outlook, Excel - Basic Required
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical work instructions
  • Ability to accurately perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Ability and willingness to work in a team environment
