General Summary

The Area Manager I is responsible for profit and loss, operations, business development and customer relations for one area location by overseeing all Project Managers and Operations Managers to ensure efficient planning and scheduling of personnel, equipment and materials to complete projects safely, within budget, and with a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  • Responsible for client relations and business development in alignment with business strategies and goals.
  • Ensures proper resources are dedicated to enable projects to be completed safely, on time, within budget and to the client's satisfaction.
  • Oversees contract execution with elevation to higher levels as required to ensure contracts are completed on time, within budget and to customer satisfaction.
  • Reviews project specifications, contract documents and agreements with Project Management Staff to ensure accurate communication and compliance with job requirements.
  • Issues final approval of proposals/bids with elevation to higher levels as required to meet LOA requirements.
  • Controls oversight of project setup, start, execution and project payment requests to ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Ensures compliance with divisional required documents, reports, metrics, etc. to maintain alignment with divisional budgetary goals.
  • Reviews and coordinates project production schedules with Project Managers, Operations Managers and Superintendents and completes a 90 day backlog schedule to ensure projects are on time.
  • Administers and directs all Safety Compliance Programs to ensure the safety of all employees, clients and the public in our work areas.
  • Acts in the Company's best interest and looks for opportunities to improve the bottom line while maintaining quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business management is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in construction or project management.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. At times will be working around large construction equipment, must be safety conscience.
