PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The Information Security Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the security team with vulnerability scans and penetration tests on BVHS systems, monitoring network and host-based intrusion detection/prevention systems, recommending security solutions, advise on systems and application-level configurations, and investigating and mitigating security risks as required.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duty 1: Supervise vulnerability scans, penetration tests on campus systems, document findings, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
Duty 2: Operate, administer, and monitor security systems.
Duty 3: Assist other technical support staff in identifying and implementing appropriate security safeguards, including patch application and anti-malware strategies.
Duty 4: Analyze network traffic, intrusion attempts, activity logs, and system alerts for trends, anomalies, and potential security breaches.
Duty 5: Develop scripts, tools, and procedures to automate scans, assessments, and other monitoring and discovery activities.
Duty 6: Coordinate annual cybersecurity tabletop and disaster recovery plan testing with internal and external stakeholders.
Duty 7: Assist team in identifying, investigating, documenting, and mitigating all zero-day and critical vulnerabilities.
Duty 8: Assist with creation and ongoing advancement of our cybersecurity security awareness training for associates.
Duty 9: Review and update all security related policies annually.
Duty 10: Provide leadership with monthly dashboards related to security.
Duty 11: Coordinate audits to ensure that we are following appropriate policies.
