Purpose

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR team to support various programs for designated business units. This position provides HR services in the following areas: new employee onboarding, benefits administration, data ATS reporting, employment policies/practices, recruitment, employee-related transactions, employee relations, and special projects. Experience in these areas will solidify the success of this position and the continued growth of Delta Star's HR department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manages internal and external hourly hiring recruitment process for business unit.
  • Strategically and proactively source passive and active candidates to build and maintain a quality talent pipeline for current and future workforce needs.
  • Support the Sr. HRBP on the administrative and clerical duties such as but not limited to Performance Management, annual salary review administration, benefits open enrollment and administration, FMLA & WC Leave Administration, and payroll administration.
Specific Duties
  • Administer applicant enquiries - responding to all speculative applicants and agencies as appropriate and passing screened resumes or employment applications on to the hiring manager for further consideration.
  • Assist the Sr. HRBP in the production of job descriptions and identifying key competencies for each role.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with potential candidates, recruitment agencies, schools, and associations.
  • Assesses hourly candidate information, including resumes and contact details, using our ATS (Applicant Tracking System).
  • Manages immigration sponsorship needs and activities for the business unit. Tracks employment documentation expiration dates and works with immigration attorney to review documents in a timely manner.
  • Organizes and attends job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Use social media, job fairs, and other job/career advertising tools, in conjunction with Delta Star's Marketing, to create compelling career brand awareness.
  • Schedule interviews as required in conjunction with the Sr. HRBP and the hiring manager.
  • Ensures compliance with Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9.
  • Screen resumes and coordinate interviews between the candidate and hiring team, as required.
  • Record all recruitment and applicant activity in the applicant tracking system to comply with EEOC and AAP requirements.
  • Ensure that all recruitment administration is completed in a timely manner in conjunction with the Sr. HRBP.
  • Draft and deliver employment offers in coordination with the Sr. HRBP.
  • Conduct the first day orientation for all new hires and ensure that all required onboarding paperwork is completed and collected.
  • Collaborate with the DSW Executive Assistant to coordinate company events such as Company Parties, picnics, and employee engagement events.
  • Assists with HR administrative activities which will include new hire paperwork, FMLA/LOA management,
  • employment status changes, 401K paperwork, leave reporting, employee relations issues, exit interviews, and employment terminations for the business unit.
  • Assist the Sr. HRBP with the scheduling of internal and external training and employee development programs.
  • Ensure that all employee record retention records are up to date with respect to document filing.
  • Respond to employment verification and audit requests.
  • Work alongside the Sr. HRBP in maintaining the HR employee data in HRIS, ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
  • Provides support to employees in various HR-related topics and resolve any issues that may arise as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices and policies to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Other projects or duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources or related field required; relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Hands on experience with full-cycle recruiting preferred.
  • Experience recruiting for a manufacturing/production environment a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working in a human resource related role.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Good understanding of the external labor market conditions.
  • Good understanding of how to leverage social media, resume databases, and professional networks
  • Strong in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Travel Requirements
  • Will need to travel locally for appropriate career fairs or recruiting opportunities. May need to travel to another site for an off-site meeting on an occasion.
