ROLE:

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for supporting payroll and human resource functions for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. This is a highly collaborative position requiring strong attention to detail, organizational, follow up and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the recruitment and onboarding process for hourly positions including:
    • Update status of position requisitions within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
    • Identifying qualified candidates
    • Participating in the interview process and scheduling/coordinating additional interviews, plant tours as needed.
    • Preparing and sending offer, rejection or other employment letters, as needed
    • Coordinating pre-employment requirements and ensuring completion thereof
    • Assist with the internal position posting process within the facility
  • Coordinate and conduct employee orientations
    • Prepare new and/or re hired documents for orientation
    • Ensure proper completion of all required documents by employee
    • Coordinate with Quality, Safety and department managers to ensure smooth on-boarding process and the completion of all required training
  • Coordinate with staffing agencies
    • Verify quality of candidates and schedule on-site interviews
    • Verify invoices and process for payment
  • Develop understanding of company policies and procedures as related to all level of employee.

  • Champion benefits offerings through coordination with the Corporate Benefits team
    • Support the benefits new hire and open-enrollment process
    • Ensure employees understand and complete all required activities and provide required documentation
    • Employee education as related to changes in options
  • Oversee timely payroll management for weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles
    • Ensure that all changes in status, such as: pay rate changes, reporting structure, job titles, departments, shifts, etc. are processed
    • Ensure personal data changes, such as: state and federal taxes; employee contact information and direct deposit changes
    • Coordinate with Managers and Supervisor to ensure timecards are finalized and approved
  • Support of the performance management process to ensure:
    • Timely completion of reviews for the purpose of feedback
    • Timely administration of merit and/or cost of living increases.
  • Provide administrative support to ensure record-keeping and organization of employee documents
  • Support the development employee appreciation programs/events
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

Interpersonal/Communication:

  • Ability to participate and/or foster interdepartmental communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize multi-task duties without loss of efficiency or composure.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Communicate regularly and pro-actively with HR Manager to notify of problems or issues that arise
  • Ability to establish and build relationships with internal/external customers.
  • Strong record keeping and follow-up skills

Compliance & Regulatory:

  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices and regulatory changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Understanding and demonstrating a high level of confidentiality and understanding of regulatory requirements associated with privacy

Safety:

  • Demonstrated ability to comply with all Company policies and procedures and to uphold, support and exemplify the safety programs and standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of human resource support in at least on of the following areas: payroll, recruiting and on-boarding, administration and/or benefits
  • Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with payroll systems. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.

ADA - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Must be able to:

  • Work an 8-hour shift with overtime as required.
  • Sit constantly, stand and/or walk frequently
  • Speak and hear constantly
  • Use of fingers, hands and arms constantly

Associates degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.

Minimum of 2 years of human resource support in at least on of the following areas: payroll, recruiting and on-boarding, administration and/or benefits

Knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with payroll systems. Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now a plus.
