This position is a key member of the FHA asset management team for a $10 billion portfolio of multifamily and healthcare loans, responsible for monitoring of assets, overseeing property performance, interfacing with borrowers and regulators, and presenting recommendations to Company management and regulators on each asset as needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform asset management and surveillance activities in order to identify, monitor, rate and mitigate any financial, credit, ownership, physical and market risks impacting the properties within the FHA loan portfolio.
  • Review third-party REAC property inspections and work to recommend risk mitigation strategies as appropriate. Track and analyze Capital Needs assessments and make recommendations to HUD.
  • Review, analyze and report on property and principal-level financial statements.
  • Monitor borrower compliance with terms and conditions of FHA loan documents and all internal policies procedures.
  • Work with the Asset Management Analysts and the FHA Construction Asset Management team to provide asset oversight during lease-up and to facilitate transition of the loan to permanent status.
  • Review and monitor special escrows and Letters of Credit to ensure compliance with HUD guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Asset Management Analysts.
  • Maintain open communication with borrowers, HUD and W&D front-end production staff.
  • Assist in the development of process improvements to maximize efficiency of the department.
  • Handle additional projects as assigned.


The education and experience we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business Administration, Government/Political Science or related field.
  • Two (2) years or more experience in Asset Management of multifamily and/or healthcare facilities required.
  • Knowledge of HUD programs and/or underwriting preferred.


The skills you should have:
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to approach problems logically while ensuring adherence to program guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office products. Experience with database programs (SQL) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with strong work ethic to meet daily challenges of a fast-paced environment.
