Job Description Summary
Manage and perform the Human Resources related functions, supporting Management and employees. The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
• HR Manager reports to and works under the direction of the Company President, and works closely with the Texas Region HR team.
• Manages the execution of HR policies, practices, and procedures to achieve the company's business objectives.
• Partners with managers as a trusted business resource regarding effective employee relations practices, strategic workforce planning, employee development and learning initiatives.
• Coordinates with managers and recruiting team to effectively manager employee onboarding, transfers and termination processes.
• Provides HR assistance in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations and work performance problems. Facilitate communication and improve employee human relations skills and work performance.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state compliance reporting, employment practice laws and other government labor regulations.
• Direct, supervise, and perform duties required for hourly recruitment and employment, including job postings, writing effective job descriptions, advertisements, interviewing, screening, reference checks, and making recommendations.
• Direct, and supervise the administration and compliance of company policies, compensation, benefits, and company programs and plans.
• Align and carry out established best practices by preparing, updating and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
• Conduct and manage investigations into employee complaints, hot line calls, consult with legal as necessary to ensure compliance.
• Assist managers with talent management process, including goal planning, career development, mid year coaching and year end reviews.
• Facilitate employee and manager trainings as needed for various HR related topics such as harassment, EEO Policies etc.
• Travel to various company operations and locations to meet and work with employees.
• Process unemployment claims and acts as the company representative for the Workforce Commission hearings.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Develop talent management strategy, identify leadership competencies, conduct gap analysis, and collaborate with division leadership team to develop a talent pipeline/succession planning.
• Assist in identifying and creating career development plans for High Potentials.
• Coordinates and facilitates employee engagement activities to drive increase employee involvement.
• Initiate and facilitate annual pay increases and IC bonus incentives.
• Manage HR team and functions to ensure efficiency meeting the business needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or a related field with 5+ years in Human Resources role.
• PHR desired. Construction company experience preferred.
• Requires proficient use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Power Point and the ability to work with various software programs which support HR functions.
