Summary of Duties
The Grant Proposal Coordinator works independently to research, evaluate and recommend grant opportunities or areas of grant collaboration on the Tri-Cities campus; consults with the principal investigators on the chosen proposals to augment the writing process; develops and edits grant proposals.This position works closely with the post-award grants coordinator to assist principal investigators with the management of funded grants in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, institutional policies and best practices. These post award processes include: monitoring grant activity and offering guidance regarding compliance; gathering information and creating financial reports to assist principal investigators with the administration of the grant.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in relevant field and three (3) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified within the project specialty. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Three (3) years of experience coordinating, writing, and/or preparing grants and contracts, or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience which demonstrates familiarity with programs and processes of granting agencies, including federal agencies, as well as, corporate and private sponsors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
