Global Product Director- Power Electronics and Motors

In this highly impactful role, you will lead the development and execution of the Power Electronics and Motors product line and business strategy including design, supply chain, manufacturing, and end to end execution that establishes Caterpillar as a leader in the markets served. The position requires strong enthusiasm around sustainability and decarbonization efforts, as well as ability to lead transformation and change management efforts across the division. As the value chain entrepreneur, you will engage in exciting and complex challenges involved in the development and enhancement of both new and existing products, positioning us to be at the forefront of energy transition.

Role will provide a holistic business perspective to the Vice President, Product Management and will be responsible for global economic and competitive trends, technology and product development with P&L responsibilities. The position will oversee a department of approximately 60 employees.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading and developing talent including coordinating, coaching, and determining appropriate resource allocations
  • Developing the market strategy and product roadmap for Power Electronics and Motors
  • Providing enterprise viewpoint with a strong customer focus and collaborative mindset
  • Making key decisions on product strategies with input from supply chain, purchasing and manufacturing
  • Optimizing portfolio performance and managing all costs of product and supply chain
  • Determining long term capacity, geographic footprint and product mix for optimum returns
  • Accountability for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs content and overall program financials, functional specifications, product positioning and product pricing
  • Ensuring products exceed quality requirements by collaborating with internal and external suppliers
  • Incorporating go to market scenarios, services and product support strategies into component development
  • Managing the P&L for product line, may work with various manufacturing locations and/or design centers located globally
  • Ensuring product makes the expected contribution to short and long term revenue
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited program
  • 10 or more years of component product development as well as business P&L experience
  • 5 or more years of directly managing teams
  • Experience working with global teams
