Primary Function of Position:

 

Contribute broadly to the Product Development team, responsible for machine learning, advanced analytics, and new technology development focused on surgical workflow and performance for next generation robotic surgery platforms.

 

The successful candidate must excel in a high-energy, focused, small-team environment, be able to initiate and drive new research directions, and have a commitment to high research quality. A strong sense of shared responsibility and shared reward is required.

 

As part of the Product Development team, immediate responsibilities include:

 

  • Serve as technical lead in full-stack app development to support digital products and ML-enabled research efforts
  • Work closely with the data engineering team to build robust interfaces to a surgical AI data platform
  • Support integration and presentation of insights powered by machine learning and data science algorithms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with UX, human factors, and clinical experts to support effective design, development, and improvement of digital applications that are both customer facing and internal facing
  • Provide expert knowledge of iOS application development and deployment ecosystem.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Keep current with our software/hardware deployment and cybersecurity strategies and understand overall trends in AI, ML and Cloud technologies 
  • Work with product development teams to bring data products to market.

 

 

Skill/Job Requirements:
 

Competency Requirements: (Competency based upon education, training, skills and experience). To perform the responsibilities of this position, the individual has:

 

  • Minimum M.S. in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or Applied Math with minimum (3) years industry experience developing software, or B.S. degree with minimum (5) years industry experience developing software.
  • Experience creating, deploying, and supporting iOS applications encompassing both front-end and back-end operations
  • Experience with native iOS programming, core tools, and SWIFT
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to back-end services
  • Experience with Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
  • Experience with Python is required.
  • Experience with the GCP environment is ideal.
  • Experience with video recording, compression, and streaming is ideal.
  • Interest in opportunities to lead/manage a team
  • Interest in research and development/prototype efforts.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • The ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-20%)
