Global Communities is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Development Finance team. This position is eligible for hybrid remote or fully remote in the United States.

The Financial Analyst develops projections for and monitors Global Communities' micro and small enterprise lending subsidiaries and activities. These serve more than 80,000 clients with a portfolio of more than $260 million, mainly in the Middle East. Most of the portfolio is owned through the Vitas Group, Global Communities' for-profit holding company.

The Financial Analyst develops and revises financial projections for existing and new institutions, as well as consolidates business plans from various subsidiaries. In addition, s/he monitors the credit portfolio, ensuring reports are accurate and delivered to stakeholders on time; supports digital transformation and data analysis throughout the network; and tracks and monitors budgets with department and Vitas Group.

Compensation:

$52,800 - $66,000

Responsibilities

Responsibility Area: Reporting

  • Receive monthly reports from subsidiaries and affiliates; review and clarify any questions or concerns
  • Inform Vitas Group and Development Finance (DF) management of important changes and/or discrepancies
  • Collate reports, place in Key Performance Indicator (KPI) table on monthly basis
  • Prepare dashboards, using PowerBI and other tools
  • Monitor financial, portfolio, and social indicators
  • Prepare quarterly reports for key actors: Vitas Group Board, Global Communities Board, Calvert Impact Capital, US Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and answer enquiries from Vitas Group management

Responsibility Area: Financial Projections
  • Prepare financial projections for Vitas Group management, Board, and potential investors, at least once a year. Projections will include various scenarios and will be linked to overall business strategy
  • Prepare financial projections for new institutions and initiatives
  • Consolidate projections from various subsidiaries. Work with management in subsidiaries to understand their projections, trends, strategy and links with overall priorities

Responsibility Area: Finance Support
  • Assist external auditors, upon request, in clarifying notes to financial statements for Vitas Group and Global Communities
  • Track invoices for loans from DFC, Calvert, and Global Communities

Responsibility Area: Budgeting
  • Using frameworks established, review budget vs actual for subsidiaries, Vitas Group, Vitas Ventures, digital transformation, and cost centers under DF management
  • Discuss on monthly basis with DF / VG management budget progress, including any major variances

Responsibility Area: Digital Transformation and the role of EDAC (Embedded Data Analytics Champions)
  • Represent Vitas Group at Data Analytics Competency Centre (DACC) which define standards and policies around data strategy & data analytics. Support the development of "single source of truth" principle, standardizing business terminologies & KPI's across all subs
  • Liaise with Serbia tech team to ensure data and information are accurate and timely
  • Understand WebAbacus data, tables and flows. Master WA strategic and operational reporting templates. Understand other centrally managed platforms using central and local data like Salesforce
  • Responsible for designing recommended reports & dashboards using data warehouse and PowerBI tools
  • Responsible for designing dataset tables in PowerBI, and designing and documenting formulas, tables & requirements with the help of Data team about new reports and analytics. Work with data scientists on new data model and analytics


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Commitment to financial inclusion by providing financial services that respond to low-income clients' needs and foster the long-term development of individuals, businesses, families and communities
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ability to produce flawless, accurate, and timely deliverables
  • Strong financial analysis and accounting (GAAP/IFRS) skills needed
  • Familiarity with advanced Excel models required knowledge of microfinance business modeling tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills. Proven ability to work with large amounts of data in Excel spreadsheets, including pivot tables, in addition to database management
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Advanced computer skills in a Windows based environment including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Fluency in English, written and oral required. Abilities in a second language, such as Arabic, desired
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, sit at a computer and operate a keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time
  • Ability to attend quarterly board meetings that take place at the Silver Spring office, and one Vitas General Manager meeting that take place annually outside of the US

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in a related discipline and a minimum of two years of related work experience or a minimum of six of related work experience
  • Professional work experience must be in financial analysis of financial institutions or corporations
  • Experience in emerging markets, financial inclusion or banking highly desired
  • A passion for the mission and values of Global Communities
  • Must have U.S. work authorization
