Advertised Job Summary:External Relations and Operations Manager
Requires a bachelor's degree and 3 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Proven ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with external university stakeholders such as graduate/professional school recruiters, employers, alumni, and community partners.
Background tracking expenses, allocating resources efficiently, and adhering to financial guidelines and protocols. Proficient with software platforms such as Peoplesoft, Finance Intranet, e-commerce Touchnet Marketplace and other university systems.
Prior experience in employer or constituent relations, account management, human resources, sales/marketing, public relations, event planning, and/or public speaking is beneficial. Prior background in higher education, university career services, or college recruiting is an asset.
Experience in logistics and event management, particularly in a higher education or similar setting.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, exercise good judgment discretion and be able to deal courteously with faculty, staff, students and the general public. Must have good organization skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and maintain confidentiality. Must also have strong computer skills (Microsoft office: Word, Excel, Teams), good problem solving skills and the ability to use the Internet and email.
Job Duty:EMPLOYER RELATIONS AND DEVELOPMENT: Assist employers with appropriately connecting to faculty and academic-based student organizations as needed. Interact with employers participating in on-campus recruiting and engagement activities to ensure a positive experience during their visit. Maintain a strong year-round relationship with employers by connecting them with appropriate resources/services (job postings, on-campus interviews, job fairs, specialized engagement events, etc.) to meet their recruitment needs. Provide information to employers about USC Career Center recruiting policies and services in accordance with relevant employment law.

Job Duty:ASSESSMENT & EVALUATION: Work with the Student Success Academic Assessment team to collect and analyze data (qualitative and quantitative) to assess the effectiveness and impact of internships, co-ops, and other experiential learning initiatives. Prepare reports for university leadership on outcomes. Stay abreast of current research, literature and trends related to experiential learning, industry, career services and higher education. Benchmark and adopt leading and best practices in experiential education. Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure the impact of experiential education initiatives on student learning, progression, and career readiness. Use data to continuously improve program effectiveness.
