Job Title:Extension Educator 4H Youth Development Clark CountyDepartment:FAES | Clark County

The Ohio State University Extension Educator will work collaboratively with the existing 4-H professionals to deliver a comprehensive 4-H Youth Development program, growing membership, volunteers and educational opportunities. This educator will specifically develop and expand youth development programming efforts that meet the needs of non-traditional youth specifically focused on building workforce and life skills and addressing current issues impacting today's young people. Network with the Clark County Juvenile Courts and Job and Family Services to deliver youth programming in partnership with addressing current needs. Expand youth development programming within the Springfield City and Clark County school systems. Build partnerships with after-school sites to deliver STEM programs and to provide training to after-school staff and volunteers. Target development of 4-H clubs in under-served areas including recruitment, selection, orientation, training, recognition of volunteers to work with these clubs. Develop day/overnight camping program opportunities in collaboration with community partners. Recruit and train teens to support camping and other programming initiatives and provide workforce development skills. Utilize appropriate methods, both formal and informal, of community assessment to identify educational needs and opportunities of local community. Design, implement and teach educational programming, based on these needs to groups and individuals comprised of adults and /or youth. Work with and/or lead committees and volunteers, and establish and maintain partnerships within the community that support those needs. Develop promotional material, work with and/or lead committees and volunteers, and establish and maintain partnerships within the community that support the achievement of the program goals. Evaluate educational programs and dissemination quality and results of local programs. Participate in discussions and preparation of county budget and management of the 4-H funds. Support development and implementation of countywide 4-H events and opportunities (i.e. - project evaluations, awards program, 4-H Kick-Off, clinics/workshops, Fair, etc.). Seek external funds to support local programming. Participate as a member of county, multi-county, and/or state Extension teams to further Development. Assumes OSU Extension stewardship roles to assist in the management of the local office. The Educator will participate as a member of county, multi-county, and/or state Extension teams to further the overall mission, vision and values of both Ohio State University Extension and 4-H Youth Development.

The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
