Summary

  • Responsible for developing and setting the global PRA strategic framework across the oncology portfolio and will partner with the respective regional pricing, reimbursement and access teams, as well as the Global Project Teams (i.e. Clinical Development), Global HEOR & RWE, Global Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to develop winning value propositions and maximize the value of the oncology portfolio for Daiichi-Sankyo
  • Lead, develop and support the Global PRA Asset Leads and their respective teams that can execute cross-functionally in support of multiple product launches. Will be a visible thought leader on cross-functional teams and is expected to make strong contribution to the brand strategies and ensure franchise and portfolio view
  • Responsible to ensure effective collaboration with the Global HEOR & RWE Head and team as well as Global medical Affairs to ensure we generate indisputable evidence for our assets and maximize pricing and access for our assets
  • Ensure effective collaboration with the Global MA&P Operations & Analytics & Payer Excellence Team to maximize PRA results for the DS oncology portfolio
  • Bring in diverse and best-in-class talent in building a team to support the DS oncology portfolio. Will effectively coach individuals for high performance and lead and foster individual and team development by identifying challenging opportunities, formal training that will ready the Global Oncology MA&P team for business success and professional growth.
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for providing the strategic framework for the development of global pricing, reimbursement and access guidance & policy for the DS oncology portfolio
  • Responsible to cover early to post-launch stages for the respective assets, incl. input into NPP
  • Oversight of PRA position across brands & portfolio (tumor versus asset view)
  • Interfaces with global, regional and key country teams including PRA, HEOR & RWE and commercial on matters of pricing, reimbursement & access and its subsequent alignment with regional counterparts
  • Accountable for development of value propositions, PRA plans, including mitigation plans, and payer communication plans for preparation of the multiple launches
  • Responsible for Price governance
  • Key member to influence the clinical development programs to ensure indication seeking trials have endpoints and design that support broad patient access and interact with senior leadership on PRA strategies and topics
  • Key member of the Global Pricing Committee for price strategy & governance and in obtaining pricing authority/approval
  • Ensures price guidance and corridors in place, in close collaboration with regions and key countries, including evaluation of Innovative Value Strategies and contracting
  • Accountable for global launch sequencing and ensures effective collaboration with pricing operations and analytics team for simulations and impact calculations
  • Interfaces with the DS regions and key countries on matters of PRA processes and policies in key markets
  • Understanding of changes in pricing and reimbursement environment, processes and policies of key markets and impact on the DS Oncology portfolio
  • Responsible for access input into the LCM & commercial plans
  • Provides comprehensive input to Clinical on trial design, endpoints, comparators etc. to support optimal access and reimbursement
  • Works closely with regions and key countries in obtaining feedback on clinical trials schemes from payers and KEEs to optimize the data package to support the reimbursement filings in key markets
  • Accountable for the development of the Access Strategies, Payer Value Proposition, and payer toolkit to support launch and label expansion of the oncology assets in the different regions and countries
  • Accountable for the required pricing and access inputs for Brand planning, portfolio review, forecasting, strategic planning processes and DP1, DP2, & DP3 stages
  • Demonstrates ability to build a diverse, best-in-class, high-performance team supporting the DS oncology assets and contributing to establishing the State of Art Market Access Organization
  • Ensures each team member has a development program in place with regular follow-up
  • Ensures team members can develop and learn on the job and get the necessary exposure, incl. identification of challenging opportunities for growth
  • Ensures formal and technical trainings in the broad area of pricing and market access to ensure employees can excel in their area of responsibilities
  • Ensures team members develop the right skills to collaborate with RD organization (both scientific knowledge and communication skills)
  • Effectively represents DS at major external agency meetings, specifically payer Ad Boards, internal workshops and conferences
  • Partners with Regional and Global stakeholders to provide as needed innovative pricing and reimbursement approaches & needs, based on value delivered by the asset
  • Establishes positive and highly productive working partnerships with Commercial, R&D and Regional colleagues to ensure timely coordination of activities to drive delivery of plans and programs
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation

Education (from an accredited college or university) & Experience
  • Master's Degree in economics, health policy, health economics, pharmaceutical sciences, medicines or other relevant qualification required
  • Minimum of 10-15 years experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies, Payer/HTA, physician associations or relevant consultancy companies
  • Previous direct experience with pre-launch Market Access and Pricing planning and strategy building for multi-indication oncology products
  • Demonstrated experience with developing global pricing strategy
  • Knowledge of US and Global (at minimum Europe) reimbursement environment (private and government)
  • Knowledge of pricing and reimbursement schemes and payer archetypes in different areas of the world
  • Experience in collaboration with clinical development teams and ensuring trials are being designed to support the access needs
  • Knowledge of pricing market research tools, methodologies and analytics
  • Recent experience of launching global Oncology product(s) required
