Intrado is looking to hire an Event Manager to support our Life & Safety business segment focusing on education and healthcare.

As a key member of the marketing team, the Event Marketing Manager is responsible for organizing unforgettable experiences that promote brand awareness, increase customer engagement, and drive new business for Intrado's Life & Safety business. Primary responsibilities include planning and implementing events in the U.S. and Canada: trade shows and key industry events, customer events, road shows and virtual events. With a focus on innovation, execution and metrics-driven outcomes, this role requires a sharp marketing mindset. The ability to multi-task and operate gracefully within a fast-paced, high-performance culture is a must!

Essential Duties:

  • Define goals and objectives for each event; design programs to ensure ROI (Return on Investment)
  • Design, build and execute a variety of events in collaboration with internal stakeholders (marketing, sales, and service teams), from creative concepting to logistics management through to event reporting
  • Plan and organize customer receptions at several events per year, to include venue and entertainment selection
  • Develop all planning documents-event briefs, run-of-show, production schedules, etc.
  • Work closely with Marketing leadership to ensure events are properly promoted to drive attendance, electronic and print materials for the day-of-event are high quality and follow up communications are sent in a timely manner
  • Serve as the point person for staff, speakers and internal stakeholders leading up to the event and the day-of-event to ensure a smooth experience and maximum ROI
  • Manage inventory of tradeshow supplies, association membership renewals and relevant event opportunities
  • Negotiate event and sponsorship contracts
  • Manage onsite logistics for select events-setup, teardown, catering, vendor and supplier coordination, shipping and receiving, etc. (Note: Candidates must be willing and able to work outside of normal business hours several times per year.)
  • Perform a variety of activities to ensure cost-effectiveness and timelines are met, which may include assisting with booth selection, installation, and reconfiguration, compiling cost estimates and expenditure reporting, etc.
  • Order goods and services to meet logistical needs ensuring cost effectiveness and deadlines are met
  • Conduct post-event analysis in collaboration with Marketing colleagues to track event success and ROI


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements


Experience:
  • 3+ years' experience in a marketing role with a minimum of two years direct event experience required
  • 1-year lead experience is preferred
  • Virtual events and roadshow experience a plus
  • Passionate about creating meaningful experiences for people
  • Creative thinker, ability, and willingness to try new concepts and ideas
  • Great communication skills and business acumen
  • Great under pressure, adaptable and open to different ways of solving problems
  • Customer-oriented and solution-focused
  • Ability to multitask and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook is required
