Gibbs & Cox is seeking an Entry-Level Naval Architectto join our organization in the Spring of 2023.

General Duties

  • Works independently (with direct supervision) or on project teams.
  • Performs calculations applying naval architecture principles, techniques, procedures and criteria in the areas of:
    • Arrangements
    • Weight Estimates
    • Topside Integration
    • Intact / Damage Stability
  • Develops analyses in area of specialization and prepares technical reports or other engineering documentation.
  • Interacts with clients at a peer level.
  • Task Manager responsible for technical and programmatic execution of small tasking using an interdisciplinary team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and must be eligible to be granted a security clearance if required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or other applicable discipline from an accredited university AND;
  • Preferred Experience in development of ship general arrangements, space arrangements and outfitting, using 2D or 3D AutoCAD or other CAD software.
  • Experience using industry-standard naval architecture software tools such as: GHS, SHCP, AutoCAD, MS-Office.
Security Requirements
Applicant will be subject to a security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
