Seeking a flexible, open-minded change agent who has demonstrable transformational Agile experience. In order to create an environment for transformation, this person must demonstrate the ability to influence the mindset and behavior of leaders, individuals and teams at all levels, using a practical approach.  When working with leaders, this role serves as the catalyst for change, laying the groundwork for continued organizational and cultural change within Kohler. This individual will be an agile leadership role model, influencing, guiding, and growing leaders and their teams on agile principles and practices to deliver business results.

This position requires an Agile Mindset and a Systems Thinking approach, basing decisions on empiricism, and identifying opportunities to continuously improve the way products and services are delivered.

The successful candidate will guide and grow the Kohler Agile Coaches and stay aligned with Kohler's Playbook and the emergent practices of Kohler Agile Coaches and other consulting agile specialists.  

BASIC OBJECTIVE

  • Influence leaders at all levels of the organization, both business and technology, to understand the benefits of working Agile and develop an agile mindset and behaviors.
  •  Educate and guide management and executives in the art of agile leadership.
  • Consult and coach leadership teams on an iterative approach to organizational change.
  • Create a culture that embodies an agile mindset and nurtures high performance.
  • Build support mechanisms and practices for agile leadership enabling collaboration across the organization.
  • Develop agile coaches to support team members in optimizing their adoption of Agile and taking ownership of their individual roles.
  • Create self-sustaining agile teams and build momentum that drives meaningful business results that are focused on business outcomes and goals. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Responsibilities

  • Work with leadership team to understand organizational needs putting an action plan together to achieve a cultural change at all levels.
  •  Collaborate with leadership to develop agile transition strategies, manage organizational impediments, and make transformation outcomes visible.
  • Develop and execute an overall training program with a focus on business leaders, executives, product owners and business product owners.
  • Work with the Agile Enterprise Coaches and Agile COE to make work visible across value streams and product/service lines. Provide options for transformation and value stream dashboards.
  • Work with Agile Coaches to grow and realize competencies such as: effective listening, influencing and guiding teams with empathy, embodying a growth mindset and influencing without authority.
  • Provide input and be a sounding board for hiring and growing agile coaches.
  • Collaborate on transformation with Agile Center of Excellence to extend agility into the enterprise.
  • Introduce the concept and practice of measuring business performance with business agility in mind (business outcomes and value).
  • Apply appropriate agile frameworks to enable enterprise scaling.
  • Understand business process and their impacts, enabling improvement through collaboration with leadership and teams.
  • Understanding leadership maturity and put into practice strategies to grow
  • Health and sustainability of agile teams and agile processes
  • Demonstrate behaviors that reflect the values of the Agile Manifesto and Scrum Guide.
  • Facilitate transparent discussion of team and value stream impediments and the rapid removal of identified organizational impediments.
  • Provide coaching, support, and guidance to Agile Coach, such that they can:
  • Guide and grow Scrum Masters, Kanban Facilitators and Product Owners through coaching, feedback opportunities and ad hoc training.
  • Drive Scrum Master and Product Owner Communities of Practice and the Kanban Facilitator Konnection.
  • Participate in other shared learning events and activities with the Kohler Agile community.

Provide coaching, support, and guidance to Program Managers, Project Managers and Product Managers such that they can:

  • Ensure teams are focused on delivering business outcomes and usable features of the highest priority.
  • Coach Scrum Masters, Kanban Facilitators and Product Owners on the customer mindset.
  • Ensure Scrum Masters, Kanban Facilitators and Product Owners help the teams understand the WHY and the business value that is being delivered to the customer/end user.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Commitment to the Agile practice at Kohler, the terminology and mindset.
  • Able to maintain calm in challenging organization change management scenarios.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ Years' relevant experience supporting digital transformation required.
  • Industry-recognized agile coaching qualification (e.g. Scrum Alliance Certified Agile Coach, ICAgile Agile Coach or ICF Certified Coach) strongly desired.
  • Strong background in Agile coaching and developing coaches and teams.
  • Experience working on multiple large-scale agile transformations.
  • Commitment to the Agile practice at Kohler, the terminology and mindset.
  • Ability to travel approximately 15-20% of time to the company Headquarters in Kohler, WI and other locations.
