JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

Engineering Coordinator – Torrance, CA

DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for coordinating engineering process workflows, revision control, and managing of manufacturing documents used to produce finished products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Input, sort, and organize documentation in the electronic master filing system.
  • Maintain document file naming structure and formats.
  • Ensure current revisions are available and previous revisions are obsoleted properly.
  • Retrieve and file updated specifications and other documentation from customer electronic portals.
  • Close out engineering process workflows to ensure all documentation is properly filed and key personnel are notified of workflow status and engineering changes.
  • Update item status and notes in the ERP system.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma (GED) plus 2 years of experience in a clerical position or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable work knowledge and abilities have been acquired.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing.
  • Able to work effectively in multi-function teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of database, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Capable of operating basic office equipment (printer, scanner, copier, etc.)
  • Experience with data entry, and/or ERP/MRP systems

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ELEMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works indoors within the office and manufacturing areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or loud. The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or to hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
