Position Summary: LifeMoves is currently seeking an experienced, motivated and team oriented Employment Specialist. This Employment Specialist will be dedicated to working with clients as part of our Rapid Re-housing program in San Mateo County. The Employment Specialist acts as a strong support system for clients in their employment search. The goal of the Employment Specialist is to assist clients to successfully secure stable employment that ultimately leads to stable housing and self-sufficiency. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain employer relationships within the community of San Mateo County. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing individual employment plans for a caseload of clients, working collaboratively with the clients' primary case manager, as well as assisting the Program Director of Housing Support Services with other program tasks.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field, with a minimum of one year case management/specialist experience
  • Knowledge utilizing Microsoft Programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Excel)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to collaborate with community partners
  • Understanding of the issues faced by homeless individuals and other marginalized populations in crisis
  • Availability to work occasional evenings
  • Experience working with people with severe mental illness, homeless individuals, and populations in recovery
  • An understanding of ideas and practices that promote diversity, equity and inclusion; and a commitment to ongoing professional development in this area.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking is a plus
