General Overview

The Employee Support Program Manager is responsible for the management of the Brigham and Women's Hospital-wide RISE Program* and will also organize and participate in other staff support and relationship-building initiatives, with a special focus on the Department of Nursing. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of RISE, including program evaluation and assessment, all service delivery as well as the oversight of and consultation to the RISE volunteers. This position will also play a key role in facilitating learning sessions and organizing and participating in other programs within the Department of Nursing, focused on relationship building and interpersonal professional development.

*(The RISE - Resilience in Stressful Events - the program is an emotional support initiative, providing colleague-to-colleague support for Brigham staff who have been emotionally impacted by stressful patient-related or other unanticipated events.)

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
• Works independently and is responsible for the management of all Brigham RISE activities. Will oversee entire program operation and support including but not limited to scheduling: team meetings, training, debriefings, on-call coverage, and timely response.
• Maintains and manages the data management system and collects, tracks and aggerates volunteer feedback after each RISE response.
• Develops and implements didactic training curriculums for monthly team meetings in collaboration with EAP. Proficient in peer support competencies.
• Onboards, trains and evaluates RISE volunteers across all RISE teams, in collaboration with EAP
• Creates and delivers, with MGB Employee Assistance Program, RISE trainings and awareness presentations to employees and senior leaders.
• Effectively communicates across the organization including Office of Strategic Communications to promote RISE. Demonstrates the ability to work with stakeholder groups to achieve use of volunteers. Establishes relationships across departments to influence people as well as goals and outcomes.
• Creates standard operating procedures and practices for RISE service delivery.
• Coordinates the following with EAP: crisis intervention and staff support for individuals and groups of employees in response to traumatic incidents as needed.
• Maintains timely documentation of data and program evaluation.
• Manages daily, weekly and monthly activities based on program and organizational goals
• Evaluates, assesses and creates process improvements to the RISE program, by gathering volunteer feedback and collecting trend data.
• Presents analyzed data to Sr. leadership and executive sponsors
• Oversees management of all RISE correspondence and email requests for RISE
• Coordinates the following with EAP: debriefings after each RISE response for purposes of ongoing training, education and support of volunteers and escalates concerns to the EAP if clinical support is needed
• Purchases and requests to purchase needed supplies, equipment or services within budgets or limits
• Manages and facilitates the RISE multi-disciplinary advisory group
• Manages work products of teams for compliance with programmatic and organizational objectives and goals
• Serves as a member of RISE Leadership Team
• Liaison with John's Hopkins RISE network members and vendors
• Keep both BWH Executive Sponsors and BWH leadership informed and aware of the program development and resources.
• Works with the Brigham Experience (BE) Team in the development and implementation of the BE strategy that produces programs, initiatives, and metrics.
• Participates in the day-to-day planning and implementation of organization-wide educational programs, services, and special events related to relationship building and interpersonal professional development, with a particular focus on the department of nursing.
• Researches and identifies needs and emerging trends in wellbeing and flourishing in healthcare, with a particular focus on nursing.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, interdependent manner with a wide array of colleagues and clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications
• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 5 years related experience
• Program management experience
• Group facilitation experience
• Experience in training and organization development design a plus

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of crisis support services, including personnel involved and case details.
• Ability to utilize internal and external resources to assist with linkages to collaborative services.
• Ability to simultaneously lead and function as member of the team
• Staffing, planning and people management skills
• Knowledge of healthcare system and services.
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated ability to effectively understand, communicate, and work across human diversity.

Employee will work in an office setting and work remotely on a hybrid basis.

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, coaching, supervision, fostering teamwork, training and development of one or more employees.
