Ultimate Staffing is working with a family-owned, international electronics fabrication organization with multiple locations in St. Clair County, IL to find an Electronics Development Engineer. Must have experience using C and C++, analog/digital electronic hardware design, and developing microcontroller-based embedded systems and driving electronic actuators.

Job Title: Electronics Development Engineer

Location: St. Clair County, IL

Status: Direct Hire

Schedule: Mon - Fri, Days

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will join a team of skilled Engineers and Technicians supporting various aspects of contract manufacturing operations. The primary focus of this role is the design of hardware and software for production test equipment. The complexity of the test equipment will vary based on the Unit Under Test (UUT), ranging from simple interface modules to rack-mounted PC-driven automated control, stimulus, and measurement systems. Additionally, the position involves engineering analysis to address customer technical inquiries and investigate issues, as well as system analysis and design for automated assembly equipment development. This hands-on position encompasses all project aspects, including requirements definition, hardware/firmware design, mechanical design/fabrication, development of user documentation, and operator training/support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed analysis of customer designs, including schematic analysis, to determine appropriate stimulus/measurement parameters for verifying assembly integrity.

• Develop analog/digital electronics to interface with the UUT, provide stimuli, measure parameters, and present results to operators in a robust manner suitable for production floor use.

• Create embedded microcontroller firmware using C or C++ to control hardware and drive displays.

• Perform electronic circuit analysis to support failure investigations and provide technical support to customers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C and C++.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in analog/digital electronic hardware design.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing microcontroller-based embedded systems and controlling electromechanical actuators.

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude.

• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary development projects.

• Experience in software development using C# for Windows OS.

• Experience in designing factory automation equipment, including PLCs, motor drives, and pneumatics for controlling complex electromechanical assemblies.
