The Electrician is responsible to perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of site's control systems, instrumentation, electrical, and electromechanical equipment to ensure proper operation and performance with daily checks/repairs in compliance with company and departmental Operating Procedures (OPs). You will perform preventative and predictive maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems, inspection of automated control systems (PLC/DCS/Delta V). Individual will work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented, team environment and will maintain records to comply with Good Documentation Practice requirements to include detailed documentation of work performed in both electronic and written form. The incumbent will routinely use the Trackwise Quality Management System, SAP for work management, DWG TrueView and Teamwork drawing repository, Delta V, the Building Management System (BMS), and the tools of the trade for alarm management, troubleshooting, and repairing process controls.

Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on automated control systems (PLC/DCS) to maintain a safe and efficient operating unit.

Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical supply and distribution systems. Motors and motor controls, VFDs, troubleshooting and repair of general electrical systems up to 4160V switch gear.

Assist in managing the site electrical technical documentation to ensure equipment designs, technical drawings, and process changes are documented and current

Have a working knowledge of the tools and materials of Electrical and Instrumentation Controls and the ability to expertly perform all types of industrial installation and repair, calibration, predictive and reliability tasks, and other duties as assigned.

Works with contract service providers and supports contractors executing maintenance activities.

Electrician Responsibilities:

  • Installing, repairing, and servicing electrical systems.
  • Sourcing or fabricating replacement electrical components.
  • Interpreting blueprints and drawing rough sketches when required.
  • Guiding and overseeing other electricians.
  • Drawing up preventative maintenance measures and explaining these to clients and other electricians.
  • Obtaining required permits, equipment, tools, and materials for projects.
  • Testing and troubleshooting systems.
  • Providing assistance during emergencies.
  • Updating project records and preparing relevant documents and reports for clients.
  • Liaising with clients, vendors, and other electricians.
  • Good Documentation Practices and communication skills
  • On-call shifts and/or overtime

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or hazardous chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee may frequently sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee may be required to wear an air helmet, mask, safety shoes, apron rubber and Tyvek suits, protective gloves, safety glasses and/or goggles while performing in this position.
  • The employee may be exposed to unknown biological agents

Minimum Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED AND 4+ years as anElectrician
  • Valid driver's license for operation of company vehicles.
  • 4+ years' experience responsible for adhering to health and safety codes pertaining to the Electrician role.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication
  • Experience with power tools and other equipment used in construction
